If you want to protect your entertainment investments, you need to learn how to copy a copywrited DVD. If your house is anything like mine, you have quite a collection of DVDs and the amount keeps growing. After all, it is so expensive to take the family to the theater these days.

For less than the price of two tickets to the movie house, the whole family can enjoy a great picture with the comforts of home. Plus, the snacks are much cheaper. However, accidents happen or the discs just simply suffer from wear and tear. So, when they quite working, it is always nice to have a backup copy just in case.

Now, I am in no way condoning making pirated copies to sell or give away. Of course, that is against the law. However, I see nothing wrong with making a duplicate for personal use, to protect an investment. Especially in today’s economy it would be a shame to have to repurchase a movie already owned.

Thus, some very smart programmers, who share my beliefs, have come up with the hardware and the software necessary to make professional looking duplicates of DVDs. With the proper hardware device hooked up to the player and the computer, users can start the copying process, while simply sitting down to watch the movie.

During the playback, the ripper is stripping the encrypted data from the disc and sending the files to the computer hard drive. After the movie is over, it is time to go to the computer and delete all of the files that have nothing to do with the actual movie. Then the files have to be shrunk back down to size, so the data can once again fit on one or two discs, instead of a whole handful.

Finally, it is time to copy the data from the computer to a discs waiting in the DVD drive. All done! Now you know how to copy a copywrited DVD. So, next time your buy a new movie for home entertainment, simply start the process when you first sit down to enjoy the picture. Then, you will always have a duplicate, just in case.
