With the proper hardware device hooked up to the player and the computer, users can start the copying process, while simply sitting down to watch the movie.
During the playback, the ripper is stripping the encrypted data from the disc and sending the files to the computer hard drive. After the movie is over, it is time to go to the computer and delete all of the files that have nothing to do with the actual movie. Then the files have to be shrunk back down to size, so the data can once again fit on one or two discs, instead of a whole handful.
Finally, it is time to copy the data from the computer to a discs waiting in the DVD drive. All done! Now you know how to copy a copywrited DVD.
