Converting DVD to WMV may seem to be a drag since people would not want to stoop down to the lowest video quality of streaming media just for people to view such a video online. WMV is the common video file used by most people who are avid fanatics of the web. This is the format that is used so that people who gain access to the web can see DVD sourced videos through websites with proper interface tools such as flash and media players available today.

Many would think why convert from DVD to WMV when you can do it step by step. For one thing, it should be noted that the lesser need to convert holds lesser options for diminished quality. For example, you convert it first from DVD to MPEG that is already one quality down. But you are not yet through. You have to convert again MPEG to WMV which will again diminish the quality. By this time, you would be lucky if you can still images better compared to the original one.

Other than it being a waste of time, you may end up reconverting again. Nothing beats taking out extra phases in the conversion process of DVD to WMV and getting straight to the point is perhaps the best thing that they can turn to. But you also have to consider that DVDs have a bigger capacity and are the main reason why some people have to wait a long time for the conversion from DVD to WMV to finish. It all depends on file size and DVDs are known to follow the standard 4 gigabyte capacity. From gigabyte to megabytes is a long route and waiting time is sure to take hours to complete.

However, after the long wait is over, converted DVD to WMV files promise to be a worthy wait. With lesser need to expect poor quality from such a conversion, it would be best to note that it is better to convert straight rather than prolonging the transformation process.
